I spent the first 15 years of my nursing career as a devoted bedside nurse, guiding patients through the ICU and ER with compassion and steady hands. For the past 15 years I’ve practiced as a nurse practitioner and taught nursing students, supporting patients as they manage chronic conditions often tied to hormonal imbalance. While I was a nursing professor at Temple University, I launched and ran a nurse practitioner–led clinic and founded a 100% nurse practitioner hospitalist team that served as the inpatient medical providers at Wills Eye Hospital, the nation’s leading eye hospital. After experiencing troubling symptoms despite “normal” labs and tests — and not receiving satisfying answers — I set out to find the cause. That journey led me to the Institute of Bioidentical Medicine and Dr. Z’s Functional Medicine Academy, where I became certified in BHRT. Since then, I’ve been honored to help women and men uncover the root causes of vague symptoms their doctors had dismissed.
