About Me

Dr. Juliana Nahas, MD, FAAP, FMACP is a board-certified pediatrician and Pediatric Functional Mental Health Specialist who helps children and teens with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, OCD, PANS/PANDAS, depression, learning challenges, emotional dysregulation, and other neurodevelopmental conditions uncover the hidden biological factors affecting their brain, behavior, and overall health.

After more than 30 years caring for children, Dr. Nahas recognized that many behavioral and mental health conditions are influenced by underlying biological imbalances that conventional medicine often overlooks. Today, she combines the best of traditional pediatrics with advanced training in functional medicine to help families move beyond symptom management and identify the root causes of their child's struggles.

Her philosophy is simple: Behavior is a clue, not a character flaw. Rather than asking, "What medication treats this symptom?" Dr. Nahas asks, "Why is this happening to this patient?" She performs comprehensive evaluations to identify factors that may be affecting brain function, including nutrient deficiencies, gut dysfunction, food sensitivities, chronic inflammation, immune dysregulation, infections, environmental toxins, mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic imbalances, sleep disorders, and nervous system dysfunction.

Every child is unique. That is why Dr. Nahas develops personalized care plans designed to support healthier brain function, emotional regulation, learning, behavior, sleep, and overall wellness. She partners closely with parents, empowering them with education, practical strategies, and evidence-informed recommendations that address the whole child, not just a diagnosis.

Families who seek Dr. Nahas are often looking for answers after years of frustration with persistent symptoms that have not improved with conventional approaches alone. Her goal is to help parents better understand why their child is struggling and provide a clear, individualized roadmap toward improved health and long-term success at home, in school, and in life.

Dr. Nahas sees patients virtually and is passionate about helping families discover the hidden clues that allow children to thrive naturally.

I had a good experience working with Dr. Nahas. She offered many alternative suggestions to manage both of my sons' challenges related to ASD and PANS/PANDAS. She was patient with me as my family navigated mold remediation and having to relocate. Both of my boys are doing better now, and I appreciate all of her support.

I found Dr. Nahas to be well informed regarding kids brain health. She was able to connect the dots immediately regarding the child's needs and provided excellent suggestions during the consultation. She is not pushy for her program and offers limited to more comprehensive services based on the child's needs. It is refreshing to meet someone that is not only knowledgeable and of high integrity but also holistic, integrative and truly cares about helping kids succeed.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Dr. Juliana is truly a *blessing*! She has been an incredible support for a 16-year-old boy with autism. After feeling overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn, she stepped in with such compassion, wisdom, and a clear, *precise* functional medicine plan tailored just for him. Her approach is thoughtful, thorough, and rooted in true healing—not just managing symptoms. Finally feel like there is direction and hope again. She took the time to understand *him* as a whole person, and that has made all the difference. So incredibly grateful for her guidance and heart. If you’re looking for someone who really *gets it* and will walk beside you every step of the way, Dr. Juliana is the one. 💛
