About Me
Dr. Amy has served as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2016 in primary care and developmental pediatrics.  She is certified in Functional Medicine through Functional Medicine Academy. Her nursing experience consisted of caring for patients and families in Family Practice, Pediatric and Adult Home Health, Urgent Care, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She graduated with her Master's Degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2016, and her Doctorate of Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2020. She began pursuing a Functional Medicine education and certification in 2019. Happy Kid FM was formulated as a product of Dr. Amy's experience in traditional healthcare and seeing the decline in mental health among pediatrics, as well as the influx of behavioral diagnoses and chronic inflammatory conditions. She sought to find new strategies as an inverse to conventional medicine that included longer time to be spent with the patient, and alternative methods for helping treat the root cause, rather than the bandaid method of treating basic signs and symptoms as they arise. Utilizing functional medicine strategies, Dr. Amy uses various tools to individualize the care and recommendations delivered to children to help them heal and get back to being healthy, happy kids again.
