About Me
I received my Internal Medicine internship and residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and have been board certified in Internal Medicine since 2004. My exposure to health and longevity began a few years ago, despite having spent over two decades in healthcare. Over time, I recognized a difficult but important truth: much of the medicine I was practicing was not truly making people well. It was managing disease, often reactively, without addressing the underlying drivers of dysfunction. In 2020, my perspective shifted abruptly and permanently when my wife’s health began to deteriorate. Despite navigating the traditional medical system and consulting multiple practitioners, we were left without answers or direction. It was only through the insight of a certified physical therapist that we were introduced to lipedema. That moment marked a turning point. What followed was an intensive period of study, clinical observation, and lived experience that exposed the profound gaps in awareness, diagnosis, and treatment of this condition.Through this journey, I came to understand not only the complexity of lipedema, but also the broader limitations of conventional care models. I witnessed firsthand the constraints imposed by fragmented care, insurance structures, and a system that often prioritizes symptom management over root-cause resolution. These experiences reshaped my clinical philosophy and redirected the trajectory of my career. As I transitioned out of acute care, I became deeply committed to applying a more comprehensive and systems-based approach to health. Lipedema, in particular, emerged not simply as a disorder of fat distribution, but as a chronic, progressive disease rooted in inflammation. This recognition became foundational. When viewed through the lens of inflammation, lipedema begins to connect with a wider network of metabolic, hormonal, immune, and environmental factors that influence disease expression and progression.Functional medicine provided the framework to operationalize this understanding. By identifying and addressing drivers of inflammation, it became clear that meaningful clinical improvement was possible. This approach does not rely on isolated interventions, but instead integrates targeted diagnostics with individualized, strategic care plans designed to restore physiologic balance.Importantly, the implications extend far beyond lipedema. Chronic inflammation is a central mechanism underlying many of the conditions patients struggle with today, including metabolic dysfunction, autoimmune processes, fatigue syndromes, and weight regulation challenges. By systematically reducing inflammatory burden, patients often experience improvements across multiple domains of health, not just a single diagnosis.Lipedema Warrior Clinic was founded from this convergence of personal experience, clinical insight, and a commitment to advancing care. The clinic is designed to provide a more precise
