About Me

Dr. Phylicia Harris, DNP, FNP-C is a doctorally-prepared Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with nearly 15 years of healthcare experience. In her practice, Functionally Balanced Health, she specializes in helping women with debilitating autoimmune symptoms who have lost hope after years of searching for relief without meaningful answers. She is committed to helping them get the answers they deserve, find relief, and once again live the life they love.

From the beginning of her career, Phylicia has been passionate about preventative health. Over the years, she witnessed firsthand how traditional medicine often fails to address the root causes of chronic illness. Seeing many patients continue to suffer despite taking medications led her to explore functional medicine. After learning about the power of functional medicine to identify root causes and create lasting change—sometimes even leading to remission—she knew she had to make this approach accessible to others. She pursued in-depth training in functional medicine at The School of Applied Functional Medicine and the Functional Medicine Academy, and became a Certified Wholistic Wellness Coach™ through the STORRIE Institute™.

Phylicia’s approach focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying imbalances in the body—particularly in areas like gut health, nutrition, and lifestyle—so her patients can experience lasting relief. Her mission is to empower women to understand that autoimmune conditions don’t have to define their lives. There is life beyond autoimmune disease, and through functional medicine, she hopes to help women live more fully, restoring their health, joy, and overall quality of life.
