About Me
Amanda is a Colorado Native who received her Bachelors of Nursing from University of Wyoming and her Master of Nursing from Colorado State University-Pueblo. She is a Nurse Practitioner dually certified in Family Practice and Adult-Gerontological Acute Care. Amanda brings 19 years of experience in medicine. After years of working in acute care hospital medicine, Amanda has seen the effects of chronic illness on patients and families. She has also seen the change in medicine that has taken away an individualized approach to health care and placed people in boxes of treatment protocols. She saw firsthand how patients were given medications as the answer to their symptoms. Amanda has always been a person who wants to know the “why” which led her to Functional Medicine. She is passionate about the preventive and holistic approach to medicine. She believes in partnering with her patients and empowering them to take charge of their health. She enjoys educating patients about medical conditions and ways they can optimize their health.Amanda found functional medicine through her health journey and after feeling the pressures of conventional medicine as she saw patients and families that were failed by the medical system. As a patient herself, she found answers to her ongoing stomach issues and fatigue. She was having signs of chronic stress and inflammation in her body that she wasn’t aware of and neglected for so long. After her transformation, Amanda is passionate about helping others become in tune with what their body is telling them and giving them the tools to heal. She believes patients have choices to make regarding their health and feels the best way to support these choices is to ensure they are educated on their risks and benefits.
